GMAT - Graduate Management Admission Test
GMAT stands for Graduate Management Admission Test. It is conducted by an organization called GMAC. It is an American test, but most of the prestigious and top ranked schools in the world accept and often require GMAT scores from their MBA applicants. The score ranges from 200 to 800, with Math (75 min), Verbal (75 min), Analytical writing (30 min), and Integrated reasoning (30 min) components. Analytical writing is scored from 1 to 6, and IR is scored from 1 to 8. The total time it takes is 3 hours and 30 minutes. It is conducted year round, and test is conducted online. The test is administered by mba.com. Though GRE is increasingly accepted by the top MBA programs as a substitute for GMAT, the test of GMAT is still used as a known benchmark to compare candidates, as the data available for this test is way more than the new entrant GRE for MBA admissions.
